Reducer is a parametric polygon reducer for Cinema4d with functionality similar to the PolyReduce node in Houdini.
The plugin reduces geometry based on a field and given settings.
It triangulates polygons automatically, if necessary, taking care that the polygons do not get too many connections,
and then smoothes the result. The mesh created by the plugin also comes with a vertex map and a polygon selection with
which you can control materials and shaders.

Install & Update:

Delete the previous installation. Copy the Reducer folder to your plugin folder.

    Restart C4D.

Enter the provided key ( internet connection is required ).

If the plugin has no write access in the plugin folder, it will create a keyfile in the %appdata% pref folder from c4d.
You need to copy this file to the Reducer plugin folder.

Reducer should work without a valid key on render nodes ( Teamrender Client and Commandline ).

Samples:
Defines the reduction steps. The higher the steps, the more complex but also finer the mesh.
Distance:
The max search distance for nearby vertices.
Selection Threshold:
Reducer returns a Polygon object with a vertex map ("FieldMap") and a polygon selection ("ReduceSelect").
You can use them both for rendering and material application.

Relax Settings:
    Relaxing:
Enable Relaxing during the reduction process.
    Relax Strength:
The max strength for each relax repeat. Just like the Iron-Tool from Cinema4D.
    Relax Loops:
Every loop shrinks the area by one vertex and relaxes it again.

Snap Settings:
    Snapping:
When activated, Reducer adds a vertex map with the assigned distance ("SnappingMap").
    Snapping Distance:
Distance threshold for snapping using field data.
    Snap Objects:
Place any polygon or spline object here to define your snap points.
Field:
Create fields or add existing objects to the field list. The values are clamped between zero and one.

Reducer Status:
Prints information in case something is not set up correctly.

Bugfixes & Issues:

1.1.0:

    Ui reworked.
    Fields Support.
Cache and a custom check for dependencies.
Change keygen function and add OSX support.
    Some performance tweaks.

Schick, mit Vertexmapsteuerung.
Bleiben UVs erhalten?
